*JPS 1917:* Now the upper chambers were shorter; for the galleries took away from these, more than from the lower and the middlemost, in the building.

*Word for word:* before the.twenty \[cubits\] which \[belonged\].to the courtyard (the) inner and before \[the\].pavement which \[belonged\].to the courtyard (the) outer a.gallery \[was\].to \[the\].face of.a.gallery in the thirds

*JPS 1917:* over against the twenty cubits which belonged to the inner court, and over against the pavement which belonged to the outer court; with gallery against gallery in three stories.
