**The whole BDB entry:** adj. pertaining to the third;—only m.pl. as subst. שִׁלֵּשִׁים those of third generation (grandsons); בְּנֵי שׁ׳ Gn 50:23 (E) sons of those of third generation, i.e. great-grandsons (v. KöSK 1898, 533ff.); עַל־בָּנִים עַל־שׁ׳ וְעַל־רִבֵּעִים Ex 20:5 (E; v. \[רִבֵּעַ\]) = Dt 5:9; Nu 14:18; cf. Ex 34:7 (both J).
