## In Jewish tradition

Interpretation: Sefer Yetzirah says the letters are formed by voice and breath, and are spoken in five places of the mouth. This shows the tradition's idea that sound is how creation happens. In the primary lessons: in tales, a name or a sigh said aloud so that everyone in the room hears it.

### Examples

- Twenty-two letters are formed by the voice, impressed on the air, and audibly uttered in five situations, in the throat, guttural sounds; in the palate, palatals; by the tongue, linguals; through the teeth, dentals; and by the lips, labial sounds.
