«boaster» in the English dictionary: everyday and in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## Everyday

A person who boasts: someone who talks too proudly about what they have or can do, often making it bigger than it really is. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/B/boaster/#m1)

## In Jewish tradition

A proud person who trusts in himself instead of God. The Psalms and Jeremiah say God will not accept or save such people.

**Interpretation.** Seen as a person who forgets that all strength comes from God, so pride is called a sin.
