### Note

Cars have 4 wheels each; people ÷ seats per car, rounded up. Trap: a train car is one part of a train. Distance = speed × time. «motor vehicle» and «automobile» in an exam mean car; «seating capacity» is how many people fit. «wheels» in slang may mean a car, not 4 wheels. Safety: always buckle up, and never play near parked cars.

## In Jewish tradition

Here "cared for him" is the old verb for looking after; the word "car" appears only as part of "cared" or "caring". In Beth-car it is part of a place name.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads "apple of His eye" as God's tender protection of Israel in the wilderness.

### Examples

- He found him in a desert land, and in the waste, a howling wilderness; He compassed him about, He cared for him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. (Torah DEU.32.10, JPS 1917) [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/judaism/C/car/#x1)

- When they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him: 'Come and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and become anxious concerning us.' (Prophets 1SA.9.5, JPS 1917) [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/judaism/C/car/#x3)
