### Meaning

1. (euphemism, business) not enough money to pay bills right now; being nearly broke.
2. (literal, business) money coming in later than money going out.

### In the lessons

Used by businesses and people to hide «we can't pay» or «we are broke»; sounds technical and temporary. Everyday and business; all regions.

### Examples

- The shop closed because of cash flow problems.
- «I've got a bit of a cash flow problem until payday,» said my brother.
- The club has a cash flow problem and can't pay its players.
- Chat: «Can't come out tonight, cash flow problem lol.»

### Note

It hides «no money» or «can't pay». In maths, cash flow = money in minus money out; a negative number is the problem.
