## Everyday

1. (a name) Chon is a surname and given name, for example a Korean surname (also written Jeon or Chun) and a name used in some other Asian and Hispanic families. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/C/chon/#m1)
2. Not a common English word: it may be a fragment of a longer word cut off in a text. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/C/chon/#m2)

### In the lessons

Children may meet it as part of a person's name in a story or class list. It does not carry an everyday English meaning on its own. If it appears alone in a text, check if it is a name or part of a broken word.
