### Note

Value = number of coins × value of each. Trap: the number of coins and their value in cents are different answers. A fair coin lands heads about half the times. Safety: small children can choke on coins.

## In Jewish tradition

Interpretation: The root ספ״ר (s-f-r), meaning count, tell or book, is read as the source of the new word Sefirot. Tradition sees in it the ideas of number, telling and writing as the ways of creation. In the primary lessons: maths: money counted by number and value (penny 1 cent, nickel 5, dime 10, quarter 25); coin tosses in chance and probability (heads or tails, a 1 in 2 chance); everyday life: piggy banks, coin machines, coins in different countries; history: old coins found by archaeologists

### Examples

- The root ספ״ר is also utilized to coin the novel metaphysical term סְפִירוֹת Sefirot, on which see SY 1:2 below. (Sefer Yetzirah, Sefaria community translation) [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/judaism/C/coin/#x1)

### Note

Value = number of coins × value of each. Trap: the number of coins and their value in cents are different answers. A fair coin lands heads about half the times. Safety: small children can choke on coins.
