## In Jewish tradition

In the Psalms and Esther, to confirm means to make firm, to make a promise or decree stand. The psalmist swears and confirms his oath, and asks God to confirm His word.

**Interpretation.** Tradition teaches that Purim was confirmed in writing by Esther and Mordecai, so it became a lasting holiday. Sefer Yetzirah uses "confirm" for proof by faithful witnesses.

### Examples

- To confirm this there are faithful witnesses; the world, year and man, the twelve, the Equipoise, the heptade, which God regulates like the Dragon, \[40\] (Tali) sphere and the heart.
