## In Jewish tradition

In Proverbs it is part of fine household goods. In Kings it is a cloth that Hazael used to smother King Ben-hadad.

**Interpretation.** Proverbs 31 is sung on Friday night as "A Woman of Valor," praising the skilled housewife. The Hazael story is read as a warning about power gained by murder.
