### Note

Past and past participle of «declare»: declared. Often passive: was declared, has been declared. Pronounced di-KLAIRD.

## In Jewish tradition

Here it means told or made known, as when Moses told Israel the festivals, or when a decision was not yet made clear. In the Psalms and Isaiah it also means proclaimed, as the heavens proclaiming God's righteousness.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads the festivals as "appointed seasons of the LORD" which Moses taught to the people. The wood-gatherer was held until God's ruling came. The psalm's heavens "declaring" God's righteousness is read as all creation praising Him.
