### In the lessons

## In Jewish tradition

It means to uncover or reveal something hidden. The earth is said to disclose the blood it has covered.

**Interpretation.** Isaiah pictures the earth giving up the blood of the slain, which the tradition reads as God's justice bringing hidden wrongs to light.
