### In the lessons

In water safety, never dive into shallow water or water you cannot see the bottom of — you can break your neck; check the depth and follow «No diving» signs. Scuba divers explore coral reefs like the Great Barrier Reef. In nature, gannets, kingfishers and pelicans dive for fish. In football, «diving» means pretending to be fouled. Past tense: «dived» in British English, «dove» or «dived» in American English. Noun «a dive», person «a diver». «Dive into» something can also mean start it with energy.
