### Note

«A dollar is 100 cents.» A unit of money, not a thing counted. «spent» takes away, «earned» adds; «each costs N dollars» is a rate (price). Trap: «$» before a number means dollars too: $5 is said «five dollars». Write «$5», not «5$».
