### Note

Direction: east and west are opposite, so subtract to find how far from the start. Trap: east then north is not a straight line sum. Remember the compass with «Never Eat Shredded Wheat»: north, east, south, west going clockwise.

## In Jewish tradition

The direction of the sunrise. The Tabernacle's entrance faced east, and the east wind brought harm in Pharaoh's dream.

**Interpretation.** In Jewish tradition the east is the direction of the sunrise and of Eden, and Jews far to the west of Jerusalem face east when praying.
