### In the lessons

In health and feelings lessons it is one of the common emotions: everyone feels embarrassed sometimes — tripping in the playground, a wrong answer, a funny noise. Learning that mistakes are normal helps. In stories embarrassed characters blush, look down, or want to hide. Manners: don't laugh at someone who is embarrassed. Phrases: feel embarrassed, embarrassed about, embarrassed to say, go red.

### Note

Spelling trap: double «r» AND double «s»: embarrassed. «Embarrassed» = how you feel; «embarrassing» = what causes it (an embarrassing mistake). Not the same as «ashamed», which is stronger and about doing something wrong.
