## In Jewish tradition

In the Torah it often means going into a land, a tent or the Tabernacle, or being admitted to the community of Israel.

**Interpretation.** The law that certain people may not enter the assembly of the LORD is read by tradition as a rule about who may marry into Israel, and the Rabbis limited it carefully.
