# ephah

noun

«ephah» in the English dictionary: in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## In Jewish tradition

It was the standard measure for grain and flour offerings, and an omer was a tenth of it. Ephah is also a son of Midian.

**Interpretation.** The law demanded a "just ephah," so the measure stood for honest dealing in trade, and the Rabbis taught that cheating with measures was a serious sin.

### Meaning
