Marks time; morning plus evening amounts add for the day. Trap: 8 in the evening is 20:00 or 8 pm. «Evening» is not «evening out» (making even).

## In Jewish tradition

In the Torah the day begins at evening, so "evening and morning" make one day.

**Interpretation.** Because of this verse, the Jewish day, the Sabbath and the festivals begin at nightfall and last until the next nightfall.
