## Everyday

1. Stories that are made up by a writer, not true facts. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/F/fiction/#m1)
2. Something that is not true: "His story about a dragon was pure fiction." [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/F/fiction/#m2)

### In the lessons

In English lessons, books are sorted into fiction (made-up stories, novels, fairy tales) and non-fiction (true facts, such as encyclopaedias and biographies). Libraries shelve fiction by the author's surname. Science fiction tells stories about science and the future. Phrases: fiction book, science fiction, non-fiction, fact or fiction, historical fiction.

### Note
