### Meaning

1. (euphemism) the grave or place where a dead person (or their ashes) is buried or kept.
2. (humorous, extended) the place where an old object ends up for good: «the shed is my old bike's final resting place».

### In the lessons

A gentle, respectful phrase used in funerals, news, history books and on signs at graves; formal-polite, all regions. Used jokingly for old things that are thrown away or stored.
