### In the lessons

In everyday life, "I'm fine" is a usual answer to "How are you?" — but if you are not fine, it is good to say so. In science, fine sand has tiny grains. In money problems, a fine is money paid for breaking a rule. Phrases: I'm fine, that's fine, fine weather, fine print, fine-tune.

## In Jewish tradition

Fine means of the best quality, as in "fine linen" or "fine flour" used in the Tabernacle and the offerings.

**Interpretation.** Fine twined linen, woven with many threads, was used for the priests' clothes and the Tabernacle curtains. Tradition sees it as showing that holy things deserve the best.
