A number word: read it as the digit 5. A hand has 5 fingers; a five-sided shape is a pentagon. Order word «fifth» (5th), not «fiveth». Trap: it may be the number of groups, not the number of things.

## In Jewish tradition

Interpretation: Five is the number of the books of the Torah, and the Hebrew letter heh stands for five. Sefer Yetzirah links five with the five vowels or the five positions of the letters in the mouth. In the primary lessons: an amount of things; in maths counting in fives (5, 10, 15, 20), the five times table, a hand has 5 fingers; in everyday life «five o'clock», «give me five»
