# foursquare

adjective

«foursquare» in the English dictionary: in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## In Jewish tradition

Used of the altar of incense: it was square, a cubit long and a cubit wide.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads the square shape of the incense altar as a fixed, orderly design that Moses was told to follow exactly; the altar was for burning incense, not animal offerings.
