## In Jewish tradition

Honey is a sign of a rich, good land, "flowing with milk and honey". It may mean sweet fruit syrup as well as bees' honey, and the manna tasted like it.

**Interpretation.** Tradition sees the "land flowing with milk and honey" as a promise of plenty, and honey's sweetness is used as a picture of the Torah itself.
