# intrinsically

adverb (intrinsically)

«intrinsically» in the English dictionary: everyday — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## Everyday

1. Intrinsically means by its own nature, in itself, not because of anything added from outside. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/I/intrinsically/#m1)
2. (formal) Intrinsically good or bad means good or bad deep down, in its very nature. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/I/intrinsically/#m2)

### In the lessons

A formal word used in ethics, exams and essays: «intrinsically valuable», «not intrinsically wrong». It tells the reader about the real nature of something, not its use or price. In maths a coin's intrinsic value is the metal, not the number on it.
