## In Jewish tradition

In the Torah a jar is a vessel. One jar held an omer of manna, and the jars of the Tabernacle table were pure gold vessels for pouring out drink-offerings.

**Interpretation.** Tradition says the jar of manna was kept before the Ark as a reminder for later generations of how God fed Israel in the wilderness.
