### Meaning

1. (euphemism, advertising) the packet has changed, and often it is smaller or the recipe is cheaper, but the price is the same.
2. (literal) the product has a new packet design but tastes the same as before.

### In the lessons

Printed on food and drink packaging by companies when they change the package; shoppers and journalists use it ironically about «shrinkflation», when you get less for your money. Advertising register, all English-speaking countries.

### Examples

- The chocolate bar now says «new look, same great taste» — and it's 10 grams smaller.
- New look, same great taste! Try our cereal today.
- Mum checked the weight: same price, new look, less taste.
- «New look, same great taste» usually means check the label.
- The football club's new kit — new look, same great taste of losing.
- If the old bag held 200 g and the new one holds 180 g at the same price, you pay more for each gram.

### Note

Do not trust it blindly: compare the weight or volume and the price. In maths: price per gram = price ÷ grams; if grams go down and price stays, the price per gram goes up. Used jokingly about anything that changes on the outside but stays bad inside.
