Countable: one paediatrician, two paediatricians; use «a» (a paediatrician). UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand spelling is «paediatrician»; the USA and often Canada write «pediatrician». The field is «paediatrics». Do not confuse with «podiatrist», a foot doctor, or with «paedophile», which is a completely different and bad word.
