### Meaning

1. (euphemism, jargon) you did not read my last email properly; I already told you this (said with annoyance).
2. (literal, formal) as I wrote in my previous email.

### In the lessons

Office workers use it in emails to point out, politely on the surface but angrily underneath, that the reader ignored an earlier message. Jargon register of office email, all English-speaking countries; widely joked about.

### Examples

- Per my last email, the meeting is on Tuesday.
- «Per my last email» — he's really cross with us.
- As per my last email, please send the report today.
- Per my last email, the answer is still no.
- Office memes joke that «per my last email» means «can you read?».
- Mum texted me «per my last message»: I hadn't taken the bins out.

### Note

It looks formal and polite but is often passive-aggressive. «Per» means «according to». Plain meaning: I already told you.
