### In the lessons

In school, a perfect score means every answer is right, but making mistakes is how we learn; "practice makes progress". In maths, a perfect square is a number made by multiplying a whole number by itself (1, 4, 9, 16, 25). In stories, perfect describes an ideal moment. Phrases: perfect score, nobody's perfect, perfect timing, practice makes perfect, a perfect fit, perfect square.

## In Jewish tradition

It often means whole, honest or without fault, as in God's work or in just weights.

**Interpretation.** "Perfect" translates the Hebrew tamim, meaning whole or complete. Tradition teaches that honest weights show Israel's duty to be fair in business.
