# planter

noun

«planter» in the English dictionary: in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## In Jewish tradition

In Jeremiah it means a farmer who plants a vineyard and will later enjoy its fruit. It is a picture of return and rebuilding after exile.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads the verse as a promise that Israel will come home, plant in peace and eat its own fruit. In the Torah, fruit of a new tree was not eaten for its first years.
