## In Jewish tradition

In Sefer Yetzirah it describes the quality a Hebrew letter rules over, such as taste, smell or beauty.

**Interpretation.** Each of the seven double letters and the twelve simple letters is given one chief power. God crowns it and joins it with a planet or sign, a month and a part of the body.
