## In Jewish tradition

In Sefer Yetzirah it names the twenty-fifth path, called the Intelligence of Probation, meaning testing.

**Interpretation.** The path is said to be the Creator's way of testing righteous people.

### Examples

- The Twenty-fifth Path is the Intelligence of Probation, or is Tentative, and is so called because it is the primary temptation, by which the Creator (blessed be He) trieth all righteous persons.
