# prognosticator

noun

«prognosticator» in the English dictionary: in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## In Jewish tradition

Isaiah mocks the "monthly prognosticators" of Babylon, who told the future by the stars and the months. They cannot save her from the coming fall.

**Interpretation.** The tradition teaches that Israel should trust God and not star-reading. The prophet shows that such fortune-telling has no power.
