adjective (reddish)

«reddish» in the English dictionary: everyday and in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## Everyday

## In Jewish tradition

In the laws of Leviticus a reddish-white spot on the skin is a sign the priest must check for tzaraat.

**Interpretation.** Tradition says the priest, not a doctor, decides whether the person is unclean; the skin condition is read as a sign tied to wrongdoing such as gossip, and is not just a disease.
