### In the lessons

In everyday life: repairing a bike puncture, a shoe repair shop, roadworks. In science and design: mending things instead of throwing them away helps the planet. Phrases: «under repair», «repair shop», «beyond repair», «in good repair».

## In Jewish tradition

Used in Nehemiah for rebuilding and mending the walls of Jerusalem section by section, each person taking a part.

**Interpretation.** Tradition honors this as a shared community effort. Repairing the broken is a picture for restoring Jerusalem and the people.
