## In Jewish tradition

Here it just means what follows from something, as in everyday English. In the primary lessons: the answer of an operation: the result of adding, taking away, multiplying; in science: the result of an experiment is what you find out, written in a table; in sport: the final score; in everyday life: «as a result», «the results are in»; it tells the reader what came after a cause

### Examples

- A separate consideration of the several parts should follow this general grasp of the subject, else much confusion may result. (Sefer Yetzirah, Westcott 1893) [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/judaism/R/result/#x1)
- The same results would be obtained, according to the Safer Yetzirah, by adding a letter at the end of each combination. (Mordell, The Origin of Letters and Numerals according to Sefer Yetzirah (1914)) [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/judaism/R/result/#x2)

### Note

Names the outcome of a step; in chains, «the result» is the number from the step before. Names by operation: sum (add), difference (take away), product (multiply), quotient (divide). In science, a result is what was seen, not what was guessed.
