### In the lessons

In stories snobs are often comic or unpleasant characters who learn a lesson; the word tells the reader the person is proud and unkind. ### Note

Countable: a snob, snobs. Adjectives: snobbish, snobby; noun: snobbery. It is an insult, so use it carefully. Being shy or quiet is not the same as being a snob.
