### Note

Homophone trap: «soar» (fly high) sounds like «sore» (painful) and, for many people, «saw». In maths problems, «soared» means increased by a large amount, but it does not tell you the exact number.

## In Jewish tradition

In Job it is the hawk flying high, which shows that nature follows God's wisdom, not human wisdom.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads it as part of God's answer to Job, who is shown that the world is full of wonders only God understands.

### Examples

- Doth the hawk soar by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south? (Writings JOB.39.26, JPS 1917) [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/judaism/S/soar/#x1)
