Irregular verb: speak – spoke – spoken. Say «I have spoken», not «I have spoke». Spoken (said aloud) vs written (on paper). «Spoken for» = reserved or already taken.

## In Jewish tradition

It is the past form of speak, often with the old "hath": "as the LORD hath spoken." It stresses that God's word, once said, is firm and will happen.

**Interpretation.** Tradition holds that what God has spoken is reliable and will come true, as a promise or a warning. The Ten Commandments are called "the Ten Utterances" because God spoke them.
