Shape word: straight sides are measured and added for a perimeter. A circle has no straight sides. Homophone: strait (a narrow sea channel). «Straight away» means immediately. A straight line is the shortest way between two points.

## In Jewish tradition

"Straight paths" means a safe, right way of life. God makes a person's way straight when he guides them to do right.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads the straight path as the way of Torah and good conduct. The psalmist trusts God to lead him on it.
