«sunshine» in the English dictionary: everyday and in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

## Everyday

### In the lessons

In science, sunshine gives plants energy to make food (photosynthesis) and helps your body make vitamin D; it also carries ultraviolet rays that can burn your skin. In safety lessons (especially in Australia and NZ): «Slip, slop, slap, seek, slide» — wear a shirt, sunscreen, a hat, find shade and wear sunglasses. Phrases: in the sunshine, bright sunshine, sunshine and showers.

## In Jewish tradition

The prophet compares God's quiet watching to still heat and dew.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads this as God waiting patiently before He acts, giving people time to turn back.

### Examples
