Trap: «it takes 3 hours» is a time, not a removal. «deduct», «withdraw», «remove» in an exam all mean take away. «Taking the mickey» is teasing, not taking anything. Safety: never take medicine without an adult.

## In Jewish tradition

Often means to marry ("take a wife"), to choose, or to bring something for a purpose.

**Interpretation.** In Jewish law, "taking a wife" is the Torah's way of speaking of marriage. Other uses of "take" in offerings show the person choosing the animal.
