### In the lessons

In stories and fairy tales, a villain tempts the hero (the witch tempts Hansel and Gretel with sweets; the snake tempts Eve). In feelings and safety lessons, tricky people may tempt children with sweets, games or gifts; say no and tell a trusted adult. In everyday life, «tempting» food or offers are hard to resist. Phrases: «be tempted to», «tempt someone with», «tempting offer», «don't tempt fate».

The p is hardly heard: «temt». Noun: «temptation»; adjective: «tempting». Being tempted is not wrong; doing the wrong thing is the choice.
