## Everyday

1. To think is to use your mind to work something out. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/T/think/#m1)
2. To think something is to believe it or have an opinion: «I think it will rain». [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/T/think/#m2)
3. To think of or about something is to have it in your mind or remember it. [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/T/think/#m3)

### In the lessons

picture what happens to the groups before choosing an operation; in science we think what will happen (predict) and then test it; phrases: «think about», «think of», «think so», «think twice», «think ahead»

### Examples

- Not quite. Think: what happens to the groups? [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/T/think/#x1)
- Think: did Tom get more or fewer? [tree →](https://mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/dictionaries/school/T/think/#x2)

### Note

Past: thought. Carries no operation clue; it asks you to picture the change. Trap: what someone «thinks» may be wrong, so use the true count. «I think so» means «I believe yes».

## In Jewish tradition

Often means to plan or intend something, as in "as I thought to do unto them." In the psalms it also means to turn something over in the mind, or to remember it. In the primary lessons: picture what happens to the groups before choosing an operation; in science we think what will happen (predict) and then test it; phrases: «think about», «think of», «think so», «think twice», «think ahead»
