### In the lessons

At school in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, the timetable shows the lessons each day; in the USA people often say «schedule». In maths, reading bus and train timetables is a common skill: finding how long a journey takes by subtracting times. «Times tables» are different: they are multiplication facts. Phrases: «school timetable», «bus timetable», «on the timetable».

### Note

Countable: a timetable, timetables. Trap: «timetable» (a list of times) is not «times table» (like the 7 times table). American English often uses «schedule» instead. In maths, to find a journey length, subtract the leaving time from the arriving time, and remember an hour has 60 minutes, not 100.
