## In Jewish tradition

A lock of hair. In the Song of Songs the king is caught in the beloved's flowing hair, a picture of love.

**Interpretation.** The Song is read as a picture of God's love for Israel. The king held captive in the tresses is read as God held by love for His people.

### Examples

### Note

nothing for maths; if a problem counts tresses, each tress counts as one.
