### In the lessons

In maths: words or pages typed at a speed: words per minute; totals over time: words = speed × minutes, minutes = words ÷ speed. In school: typing a story, typing lessons, touch typing with all fingers. Everyday life: typing a message or a search. Phrases: typing speed, typing a message, touch typing, typing mistake (typo).

### Note

«Type» also means a kind (this type of bird); «typing» is only about writing with keys. A small typing mistake is a «typo». A rate: words = speed × minutes; minutes = words ÷ speed. Trap: change hours to minutes before using a per-minute speed.
