### In the lessons

Used about votes in class, councils, juries, courts and clubs; it tells the reader there was no disagreement at all. Phrases: «a unanimous vote», «a unanimous decision», «unanimous agreement», «unanimous in their praise». In maths problems about votes it means every voter chose the same option.

### Note

Adjective only; adverb «unanimously». Pronounced yoo-NAN-i-mus. From Latin «one mind». Unanimous means ALL agree, not just most: if 29 of 30 vote yes, it is not unanimous. In vote problems: unanimous = votes for = total voters, votes against = 0.
